I know it's been a while
In my line of business the internet is a must. I depend on my DSL so that I can download reports from my home office every morning, run quotes on different types of policies for my clients and people they refer to my office, upload new policies written to my home office every night. With the DSL being down for 2 1/2 days I was rendered totally helpless, all I could do was promise folks to call them back just as soon as my "life link" was up and running again. Finally the DSL line was working again yesterday and I had about 5 hours to catch up on 2 1/2 days worth of work. I got it done but it wasn't easy!

How did we ever manage before the days of computers, the internet, cell phones? All forms were completed by hand in ink, we went to stores to do our shopping, and we waited until we got home from work in the evening to make all of our phone calls. In essence, we worked 8 hours a day!

Thank God for the computer age.

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I went to physical therapy this morning with my everyday attitude; do all of my exercises, talk to the therapist, stretch my arm and cry. Well, today was a bit different. After doing all of my exercises, weight training, etc the stretching began...talk about painful! The good news is that my therapist thinks I should have full range of motion by the time I see the surgeon again on Feb 8th. I was so excited that I cried! I guess that the "no pain no gain" goes for physical therapy too. I have been exercising and using weight every night as well as using my arm for almost everything. I should be back to my old self very soon, I only wonder if that is a good thing?

Well worth the price
I am not one to go out and buy a CD, never have been, but today was a different story. On the advice of Tracy, I just purchased http://1fantasiabarrino.com/. I am sitting in my office listening to such a wide range of songs, this CD is definitely worth every cent.

What's wrong with all of the new cars these days?
Am I the only one who has noticed that the new cars being built no longer come with turn signals? My car is a 2001, it came with turn signals, when the dealership called me last night to see if I would be interested in trading it in for a 2005 I told them no. I should have told them the reason....I like turn signals, I use my turn signals, I want people on the road to know where the hell I am going! Does this mean that I am a dying breed?

Dead limb
Ever have one of those days when an arm or leg feel like dead weight? Yesterday, exactly two weeks after surgery, my physical therapist moved me up from a 2lb to a 3lb weight, added another new exercise and the arm bike. Who do I look like Wonder Woman? Anyway, by the time I got home last night I could barely move my arm let alone sleep. Today, just typing this is a major project. What's a girl to do?

Holiday for who?
So today is a holiday for most people; but not those who are "self employed" like me. I don't mind working on a holiday because the trip to the office is easier than normal due to the light traffic, there is no mail delivery so that frees up part of my afternoon, other businesses (banks, etc) are closed so the phones are pretty light. On the flip side, all of the phone calls coming in are sounding as if our client's just came in from another planet. Is it a full moon or is it just another holiday?

Men, can't live with them, can't shoot them....
I just got a call from a very dear friend who said that he had just been to the doctor and he is now a gimp like me; apparently he has strained the ligaments in his knee while I am recouperating from shoulder surgery. My response was that together we would make a whole person. I also added that "as we get older" our bodies don't always work the same as in our younger years. After going back and forth about you are only as old as you feel, I finally gave in and said that I will be 27 today. His response....that's how you look. Everybody put your boots on, it's getting deep in here!

Here's to the new year, although a few days late
Kathryn has said for month's that I should have a blog. Since it's a new year and I am starting to feel like a new woman, what the heck, so here I go. I have no idea as to how often I will post or who on earth would want to read about my life but anything is possible.

Last night I had the priviledge of having dinner and going shopping with Kath. As a mother I am constantly amazed at how an 8lb 10oz chubby little girl turned out to be such a beautiful and smart woman. The older Kath gets, the better friends we seem to become and the more I cherish each and every moment we spend together. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
