| i LOVE wamu |
| i got home yesterday evening and had a call from washington mutual asking me whether or not i had made a purchase in a computer store in new york city for $207 on wednesday. when i told the man that i had never been in new york he asked me if i had been in kansas...hello, i never leave nevada! somehow, someone got the number on my debit card and made a duplicate card(s) and decided to have some fun. thankfully washington mutual watches accounts for "odd occurances" and called me. they have the charges on hold, my account has been frozen and my debit card is no longer any good. the good news: my credit will not be ruined by fraudulent charges and the bank is going to investigate the last couple of places that i used the card. |

| thinking about... |
| i am sitting in my office with the door open because it such a beautiful day today. as i sit here i can hear the water fountain outside (just 40 or 50 feet away from my door) and i started thinking about jamaica and the waterfall in ocho rios. oh how i wish i were there right now, lying on the beach with a chicken pattie in one hand and a strawberry daiquiri in the other! |

| quiet wheels get... |
| quiet wheels get coupons too! i had a healthy choice cafe steamer for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised that it tasted as good as it did and that i actually had to cut the pieces of chicken. i sent an e-mail to the company to commend them and i just got notification that they are sending me coupons because i took the time to tell them something good. |

| the squeeky wheel gets... |
| there is a very old saying that the squeeky wheel gets the grease, but in todays world it gets the gift certificate. let me explain. saturday morning i went to my local albertsons to do a bit of shopping and when i could not locate the pork chops that were on sale i asked one of the young butchers for help, after he unsuccessfully tried to sell me something else (pork changing colors to a beautiful green) he went and got another butcher who got VERY rude with me. i paid for what was in my cart and that night found that the brand new salad dressing that i had just bought that morning had a "best by" date of august 2007 on it. i promptly threw it out and sat down to write out an e-mail to the albertsons corporate office. the corporate office is sending me a gift card ($ unknown) and i got a call from the store manager tonight saying that she and another employee had gone through all of the salad dressings and tossed what was necessary and that there was someone in from corporate going through the meat case. the butchers are under review. there is a $25 gift card waiting for me at the store and i can have "any bottle of salad dressing no matter what the brand" on the store. this is the third time in about a year that they have chocked up a gift card for me, i wonder if they have finally learned. |

| little red riding hound |
a couple of years ago kathryn bought me a throw blanket for my sectional in the family room. i love to nap on the couch on the weekends and it is so nice to have a warm, soft blanket close by. well, as you can see i am not the only one who likes to cuddle in the blanket, banjo got all cozied up (by himself, no help from me) for his nap this weekend!

| the day after |
| so last night jerome and i celebrated our valentine's day together. he had called me on thursday morning and sent me a beautiful e-card. last night he gave me a box of see's candy (what else do you give a girl to keep her fat?) and we went here for dinner. we LOVE this place, especially the endless summer bucket (crab, shrimp, chicken)and the caddie maggies. it was absolutely delish just like always, but i am paying for the caddies today. |

| day of love and everything else |
| happy valentine's day! i came into the office this morning and my first phone message was from my sweetie to say good morning and happy v-day. we were supposed to go out to dinner tonight just like every other couple in town but he is without staff and very busy and i need to stop off at the hospital tonight to visit family (niece's husband is having surgery this morning and her half brother is there for chemo), so tomorrow we will celebrate. |

| bad luck is... |
bad luck is when you are on your way to the hospital to start chemo (because the cancer that was dignosed over 20 years ago has returned) and you are in a car accident (ending up in the emergency room at the hospital you were on your way to).
this is a true story and it happened to my niece's half brother. tim you are in my prayers. |

| me, me, me |
| it was all about me. last night jerome cooked dinner for me. this is a really big deal because he very seldom does that, he makes great reservations but only cooks 3 or 4 times a year for me. while we ate, we watched the brave one, the new jodie foster movie. normally i do not care for movies like this but i have been wanting to see it. one guarantee, the way i cheered jerome will never put a gun in my hands! if you like justice you need to see this film, it was really good. |

| the bucket list |
| so last night jerome and i watched the bucket list, it was slow in parts but really funny and definately worth the watch. the ending is a bit of a tear jerker (both of us teared up). i was happily surprised when i saw that sean hayes (from will and grace) also starred in the movie although it was strange to see him not play a flaming gay man. i think this is a great movie to see with your best friend. |
