| i could shoot myself |
just before christmas i received my first ever moving violation. i sent a copy of my ticket to a local attorney who went to court for me and got it reduced to an "illegal parking" ticket. part of the deal was that i attend traffic school.
well i certainly did not want to spend five hours in a classroom let alone with a bunch of (most likely) scuzzy people so i opted to do the traffic school on line. i also thought that i would be getting away with less that five hours...pfffffff.
the couse has 12 parts, each consists of reading and then answering 3 questions (you need to answer at least 2 right or you fail). also, each section has a minimum amount of time you must spend before you can take the three question test. all total FIVE freaking long hours and then it's off to the final exam...25 questions and you must answer 20 correctly. tell me, why does me knowing how much it costs to get a duplicate commercial license make me a better driver? this
was one of the actual questions on the final exam!!! by the way, did you know that it is illegal to drive through a playground because you could hit a child?
the one bright side to doing this on-line, other than not smelling a bunch of other people; you can have lunch, talk on the phone, watch tv all while you are waiting to go onto the next section. |

| not enough hours in a day |
this morning i went to a mandatory meeting (clear accross town) that started at 9am and ended just before noon. the jist of the meeting is that we need to make more sales. my question is when? i go to this same meeting ever 2 weeks. this is what my schedule will look like for the next two weeks:
tuesday jan 30th training 9am-4pm
wednesday jan 31st training 9am-4pm
tuesday feb 6th class 8:30am-11am
wednesday feb 7th training 8:30am- noon
thursday feb 8th training 9am-noon
i'm sorry but that is A LOT of hours not spent in my office, not to mention that each and everyone of those "out of office experiences" is clear accross town so my drive to the office takes between 45 minutes and one hour. WHEN IN THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO UP MORE SALES? |

| oh my poor... |
right after my post monday morning i went outside to bring the trash can in and failed to see a small patch of ice on my driveway from my neighbors sprinkler overspray, needless to say i went flying (oh my poor butt). the day picked up however when kath came over so that we could go to lunch together and then hang and rehang some artwork in the house.
just before 10pm i went to bed and at 12:30 some strange noise woke me up (glug, glug). i got up to investigate and found water coming up out of the floor in one bathroom. good thing i had slept for just over 2 hours because it took until 9am tuesday morning for the water to stop. it took until 1:30 to get a plummer here to diagnose and fix the problem (oh my poor wallet). since i had spent so many hours trying to control and clean up water (oh my poor back and legs)!
so this morning, barely able to move, i went to get into the shower and NO HOT WATER! hence i am blogging while waiting for water to get hot. i have not been in my office since friday (oh my poor wallet AGAIN)!

i, like most people consider my animals "my kids". i have told a few people about the kids turning down my bed but i don't think very many people belived it, now i have proof because this is what i found when i came home today! notice that they even turned the sheet back! |

| anniversary |
it just dawned on me that this saturday, january 13th, will be my blogs two year anniversary. so my question is, where in the hell have the last two years gone, so much has happened and yet my life still feels pretty much the same. in the last two years i have:
1) gotten rid of one ex-husband
2) attempted to sell my home twice
3) fallen deeply and totally in love with a man who has NO imagination
4) completely refurnished my livingroom, family room and kitchen
5) purchased a new car
6) stopped smoking
7) had to learn to deal with a few new health problems
8) become a happier and better person (my opinion)
of course this is not all that has occurred and i did not list things in any special order, but these are the things that come to my mind quickly. all in all i guess that a lot has happened to me in two years and we will just have to sit back to see what the next two years bring. |

| good bye 2006 |
it was a good year with a lot of bad and i am happy to see it go. my new years weekend was nice and relaxing, i got taken to dinner saturday night and my sweetie FINALLY cooked for me on new years eve. yep that's right! he had been telling me for more than a year that he knew how to cook but the only thing he had ever done was to make reservations and he did that very well. he went out and bought a set of pots and pans just before thanksgiving and decided to end 2006 with chicken in a frying pan. fried chicken, mashed potatoes and steamed aspargas...yummy! the bottle of champagne wasn't too bad either.
