heaven on earth |
yep that's right, heaven on earth, i found it today. what you ask? sugar free truffles that melt in your mouth. i went to one of my favorite goodie stores to get a thank you gift for a fellow agent and discovered sugar free chocolates and they even make sugar free snowy chocolate popcorn to order! no web site yet but the trip to the store is worth it (they also have ice cream). danielle's chocolates 6394 w. sahara ave (259-7616). oh, and by the way, they also ship orders! |

there couldn't be a better time |
so this morning i said to myself, "if i have to be a diabetic, this is the best time". this may sound stupid but thankfully more and more companies are coming out with sugar free products that are REALLY good! a couple of months ago i found sugar free smuckers jelly (the boysenberry is awesome), about three weeks ago i found sugar free pancake syrup and made french toast with 9 grain bread. last night i found sugar free cool whip (tastes yummy) and this morning i had a piece of cinnamon toast that i made with splenda! now if i could only find sugar free m&ms :) |

ah, las vegas drivers |
i was on my way into the office this morning when i started to wonder if nascar was in town; i'm doing 70 on the freeway while everyone else was trying to do 80. at one point i see a car that looks as if he is going to take off the back end of my car because he is in such a hurry and driving so fast that he has trouble changing lanes while another idiot cuts in front of me and then proceeds to hit his brakes. it was only by the grace of God that i got to the office in one piece and then i find this article. coincidence or just las vegas? |

i finally decided! |
for the last few months i have been toying with the idea of buying a new laptop. everytime i get a dell magazine in the mail i sit and stare and try to compare and then get disgusted and throw the thing away. well, in yesterday's mail i got a 22% off offer from dell (celebrating their 22nd anniversary), did a bit more comparing, sent the comparisons to my computer geek for review and then ordered my newest baby... an inspiron 6400 dual core laptop. the young lady that helped me on the phone was so great that i even sent a note to her manager praising her assistance. the delivery of my newest love should be late next week.
here is something i found that resembles some of the stupid questions i have asked about computers. |

ok, here they are |
i have been trying to post these two pictures since i took them last week. it took kathryn to figure out why i was not able to post them, damn she's smart! the first pic is the jasmine in bloom out in front of my house and the second are the flowers that i got on mother's day. i think that my new toy is a keeper! |

i heart office max |
yesterday after work i went to office max to have a photocopy/enlargement made and the kid working in the copy center told me that it would be a lot cheaper if i went to the store on rainbow because they could do it in black and white (just like my original) and he would have to do it on their color machine with special paper because that was their only machine. by going to a different store it should save me about $25. i thanked the kid for his help and his honesty and proceded to the door. just as i got to the door to leave i noticed a bright pink flyer with "discounted items" so i just had to stop and take a peek. ah, the thought of a new digital camera that could be used to take good pictures, and with a printer? wow...gotta take a look at that. my luck continued, the store manager (a tall and VERY good looking man in his mid 30's) was there ready to help. he showed me the camera that was on sale but when i turned around, i saw one that i liked ever better! i happily laid down my credit card after mr. manager fully explained megapixels (mine has 5.2) and how easily it will be to print pics if i so choose (just plug the camera into the printer). hell even i can do that! once home, i opened the box and started to play with my new toy. |

all i can say is FABULOUS! |
i have had a lot of weekends in my life and i have celebrated many mother's days, but this was definately the greatest.
my wonderful weekend started friday night when my sweetie and i headed out to dinner. we flipped a coin to see if we should go for italian or sea food. after sea food won out, we ended up here instead. all i can say is WOW, it was a wonderful evening.
saturday was my day to grocery shop, do laundry, walk the dogs, sleep, and relax. amazingly enough i got it all done!
sunday, being mother's day, was awesome. kath came over in the early afternoon to play hairdresser and brought me the biggest and prettiest boquest of flowers, then we headed out for our "activity". she had not said a word about what we were going to do, i had been in the dark for quite a while and then got the best surprise of my life; kath had bought tickets for this show. i have never in my life been so amazed and entertained. as if all of this was not enough, we then walked over to the venetian for dinner. we even lucked out and got a table right next to the canal.
i have now celebrated 28 mother's days (yes kath, i celebrated the first one when i was pregnant with you). each and every celebration has been a wonderful experience, not because of the cards or gifts but because i am a mom with a wonderful and thoughtful daughter. being a mom is the best job in the world. |

shame on me |
sometimes i get so wrapped up in work or whatever that i fail to call/see old friends. of course i realize that this happens to everyone, so shame on us all.
i just had lunch with a client, who turned into a friend that i had not seen in about a year. i get busy with work, she gets busy with grandchildren or travels to california to be with her sweetie and while we call each other on the phone it's just not the same as sitting down face to face and catching up.
for all of you who read this blog, call an old friend that you haven't seen in a while and set a lunch date, you will be glad you did :) |

the weekend |
so after not feeling well for almost two full weeks, i got up on saturday morning feeling almost like my old self again. i was so excited that i went to home depot and bought a few flowers to plant in the back yard, a couple of spices to plant, pulled a few weeds and then went to the doctor for an ultrasound of my carotid arteries (should know the result within a couple of days).
saturday evening, my sweetie showed up to take me to dinner, i knew he was feeling guilty for something because he took me here! at dinner he told me that he was indeed feeling guily because in two weeks he hadn't even brought me a sandwich!!! i do need to give him a little credit though because he was calling to check on me. dinner was great, service was great and the company was fabulous.
to top off the weekend we went here last night. |

the answer |
to answer yesterday's question...yes, no news IS good news. the cat scan was normal and showed that my "brain is well preserved" although that makes me sound as if i am 84 instead of 48! now i just need to go through an ultrasound tomorrow. |

is no news good news? |
so i went for my cat scan early tuesday morning, i have not heard anything yet. i assume that if there was something terribly wrong i would have heard something right away. since i just want to know that everything is ok, i called the doctor's office and was just told that the results are in but i have to wait for a doctor to look at them and then call me....
me: so when will i get a call? receptionist: after the doctor looks at the report me: so when will that be? receptionist: i don't know me: fax me a copy of the report, i will read it myself receptionist: hold on, i have to ask if i can do that me: why? it's my brain and my report receptionist: the doctor says we can't fax it, you need to come into the office and sign a release so that we can give it to you me: fine, get the release ready i am on my way. |

so what do you call... |
so what do you call a woman whose daughter runs her all over town for doctors appointments, cat scans, to and from work and then shows up out of the blue with flowers and pre-made salads? answer: THE LUCKIEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD WITH THE BEST DAMNED DAUGHTER ANY WOMAN COULD EVER HOPE FOR... AND SHE IS MINE! |
