| a fabulous time |
| went to the birthday party of my sister-in-law joanne saturday night. a huge bash for a very special birthday; 70. my niece and her husband (christy and michael) had done all of the cooking; about 12 hours worth. tons of snacks and goodies and then a full buffet followed by cookies, cake and a chocolate fountain. not to mention the full bar, a rum punch fountain and then a champagne toast. i can only hope that i look half as good as joanne when i hit the big 7-0. |

| fresh & cheap |
ok, so the store is actually fresh & easy, but i think it is cheap and not so easy (i have to shop, check the groceries and then bag them). obviously that is why it is so cheap but i still think they need to change the name of the store.
i just got back and this is what i bought:
1 12 oz. bag of fresh mixed veggies
1 package of fresh sliced mushrooms
1 dijon mustard
1 package of (2) potatoes
1 bag of whole cashews
2 3lb. cans of columbian roast coffee (store brand)
1 can of black olives
2 cans of solid white tuna in water
1 small tub of country crock
my total? $23.02 after a $5.00 store coupon! i really love this store, i only wish that their selection was larger. the best part about my shopping adventure was that a little old man (i am guessing he was about 125 years old) in a fresh & easy green cardigan came over and gave me a pack of coupons, yes siree, another $5.oo per week for the next five weeks. when i thanked him, he said, "my pleasure sweetie". he was sooooooo cute. |

| being a mom |
| being a mom has got to be one of the greatest jobs ever even if it does require a 24 hour day. i watched this and as i was laughing it reminded me of a lot of the things that i said to kath as she was growing up. watch and enjoy! |

| 5 1/2 pounds |
yep, just the amount of weight lost between monday and thursday, all i had to do was get so sick that i could hardly stand up. and how am i supposed to keep those pounds off when i can hardly walk? something in my left food made a very loud popping sound late yesterday afternoon and i am limping like crazy.

| who you gonna love? |
i went to see my tax lady today,
shaking all the way
she asked if i had paid quarterly
in response i said, "no way".
it's hard to pay quarterly
when all you make goes out
she said, "you made a lot though"
my response was, "oh i doubt".
i handed her my 1099's
and interest payments too
she input and input and input
then gave my total due.
i thank you virginia with all of my heart, you are the VERY best. by the time she was done i owed her more than i owed the i.r.s.!!! |

| spending time with texas |
| every few months friends from texas come into town for a few days of golf and fun in the sun. jerome and i always try to meet up with them for at least one nice dinner. last night we went to a place i had never been to, and it was delish. definately old time vegas! |
