last week i met a client (for the first time) that has been in my book of business for a few years. she is a beautiful 37 year old asian woman with one very exciting past which i learned about today when i went to her home on some further business. you see, this lady was married to "the hawk", a quite famous wrestler who passed away last year.
when i walked into her home i saw a wall full of his weapons; he had collected swords and all kinds of other weapons over the years. on a pot shelf in the stairwell there were numerous championship belts that the halk had won and many pictures of the hawk with other wrestlers that had been taken over the years. in the hallway upstairs she has built a small shrine to honor her dead husband where she lights candles and meditates. this is also where the hawks ashes are, in a beautiful black marble box with a hawk and his name carved in it.
once i was able to overcome the feeling of being overwhelmed i asked my client's permission to photograph the belts since i have two nephews, yes justin and tyler i am talking about you, who eat drink and breathe wrestling. so boys, the following pictures are for you with love from auntie dede and the hawk.
by the way, each belt weighs about 35 or 40 pounds, you will note that i am holding on to it even though it was fastened around me!
