| tug at my heart |
| my poolman's wife was deployed to baghdad in september leaving him to hold down the fort and raise twin girls that turned four that same month. at my request he brought them by this morning so that i could give them each a plate of cookies and angels to hang on their tree. within just a few minutes of walking in the door they were both calling me auntie and both provided a few tight hugs and kisses when they left. i know it has been a while since they have been hugged by a woman and the way they both held on to me just tore at my heart. i can only pray that their mommy and all of our soldiers come home safely and soon. |
