what do you call it when you are over 30?
this has been bothering me for a few weeks now. it seems to be ok to say you are dating when you are in your twenties but what about after that? when a "couple" are in their late forties or even their fifties is it still dating? please don't tell me that they are boyfiend and girlfriend. lady friend or man/gentleman friend sounds too old and "friend" just sounds too cold. perhaps people shouldn't even date after 30, maybe they should just resign to spending the rest of their natural lives alone.

There's a 65-year-old woman in my office who often makes references to her "boyfriend", so I say it's okay to be boyfriend/girlfriend no matter what your age!
