what a weekend

friday night a bunch of "ladies" came over to the house for what kathryn calls an adult tupperware party. the party started at 7, people started arriving at 6:30, the last invitee left after 10, and karen who is the rep from partygals did not leave until almost 11! i honestly don't know when i laughed and giggled so much nor got so much of an education in one night. thanks melody for wanting to have the party in the first place it was a blast.

i spent saturday running errands and resting because early sunday morning melody and her three kids picked me up and we went out to gilcrease farms to pick some fruit and veggies. i have always heard about this place but have never gone out there for one reason or another. you actually drive through the orchard and then just pull over and pick what ever happens to be growing (corn, squash, eggplant, tomatoes, pumpkins, watermelon) and then pay for it all just before driving out. it was awesome; i loved it as much as the kids! it's a great experience for city folk and the price is definately right.

so today, it was back to the grind with one exception....i took time out to make reservations for my friend tracy and myself to run away to mesquite for a few days next month. I can hardly wait; two days out of the office and a massage. i am excited about this because i have not had a "vacation" in ten, that's right, ten years. i have gotten away to go on business 4 times, take care of an ailing family member numerous times, 1 funeral and a one day trip for a wedding shower. of course i will end up paying dearly when i return!
