| the best christmas EVER |
yep, that's right, this was the best christmas ever even though it started out pretty crummy. saturday afternoon i was supposed to go to my sweeties house so that we could have our christmas together but i had to call him and cancel because i was sick. no, not a cold or the flu, just "didn't feel well" and was very weak. so, he came to me! while i surprised him with a black leather jacket and a 95 piece tool set he was old predictable giving me a euphoria gift card. i had been hinting toward a new watch but i guess that i will just have to live with the fact that the man has NO imagination!
sunday was for laundry, baking a turkey breast, and relaxing so that i would feel well for christmas day.
so monday was christmas and kath came to pick me up for the BEST gift/day ever. we went to the spa at green valley ranch where i was treated to a much needed massage (the best i have ever had) and pedicure. then off to the jacuzzi and sauna. this is the nicest spa i could ever imagine. i personally think every mom should be taken there at least once. after a few luxurious hours it was back to my house for sandwiches and presents. this is by far one of the nicest days i have ever had and definately the greatest holiday EVER! |

| what a blast |
| so last night was my first christmas for this year. i went to melody's house and had dinner and presents with her and the family (hubby doug and three kids). mel baked a cheesey chicken, rice and broccoli dish that was wonderful and then we proceeded to open presents. i got a cute clock for the kitchen and a beautiful tapestry to hang in my livingroom. the boys seemed to like their electronic dart board, chrissy her mermaid fairy barbie and doug went a little wacky over their new bar-b-que. all in all it was a great evening. i feel so blessed to have friends like mel and doug because they are more like family than anything else. i will be seeing them again tomorrow night when we have christmas dinner and presents with doug's mom harriet. |

| finally done |
after more than a week of playing with chocolate and baking, it is finally done. thanks kath for all of your help baking and decorating on satuday, i never could have done it without you. in fact, i am so done that yesterday i went shopping for myself (new tennies) and then just laid around the house the rest of the day.
today starts the handing out phase of my goodies! brought cookies for cesar and willie (dogs), their mom has an office accross the hall from mine. will meet a couple of friends for a late breakfast and give them their people cookie tins and chocolate dipped spoons and then run off to the groomer with cookies for grizzly! gace a pretty jar of store bought goodness to the ladies in the rental office here in my building since they are always so nice to me.
tonight i celebrate christmas with melody and her family. i really luck out since she is cooking dinner and we get presents! the tricky part will be remembering to take in my camera so that i can post a couple of pics tomorrow. i can hardly wait for her and the kids to see their presents. |

| still baking! |
| monday and tuesday nights were for wrapping presents (a few anyway) and relaxing. last night i wrapped a little more and baked peanut butter cookies. the house smelled great but i was exhausted when i finally sat down at 8:45. tonight i start the cookie press cookies. i am really proud of myself because i have not done any taste testing although it has been easier than i thought it would be. saturday morning kath and i will bake some low carb/low sugar chocolate cookies and maybe i will have one of those. |

| it's beginning to feel a lot like christmas |
friday night my sweetie and i went to my regional christmas party. dinner was great: turkey, prime rib, potatoes, stuffing, salad and all kinds of pies. instead of entertainment this year the regional's wife decided to buy gifts for everyone and we were allowed to steal each one twice. i was happy with mine ( a 3 piece set of dior perfume), we also had a short drawing for money and i won $50! as if all of this was not enough, everyone was given an irish crystal decoration for their xmas tree. it's always nice to get a bit dressed up and go out with your honey, i am always so proud to be seen with mine.
yesterday and today have been spent playing with chocolate. a few years ago i started baking cookies and giving them away at christmas, a couple of years ago kathryn and i started making truffles and simple chocolates in molds. this year (thanks to kath) i started making lollypops and chocolate dipped spoons. i still have to dip up the truffles and dust them with cocoa powder. thank goodness i still have some time for cookies and cakes! |

| what a weekend |
i was starting to feel some pressure to put up a christmas tree, so friday night that is excatly what i did and since a few others have posted pictures, here is mine. and yes, it is sitting in a niche because it is only three foot tall. and yes i was being watched!
late saturday morning i picked up chrissy (melody's 5 year old) and we went to see happy feet. i now understand why it has been #1 at the box office for about the last three weeks or so, it was FABULOUS! if you haven't seen it go, go fast. |

| snafu |
| wednesday morning i was checking my business account on line and noted that my checkbook was off by more than $200 from what the bank showed on line. this is very strange since i always balance to the penny. after a little investigation i found that i had written a check for $25 and the bank processed it as $250. i immediatly called the banks 800 number and i was told that it would take 7-10 business days for them to correct my account, my immediate reply was that that was not good enough because it only took a few seconds to screw up my account to start with. the guy on the phone suggested that i go to my branch and talk to the manager because they could probably have it corrected in 3-4 business days. off to the bank i went with internet print outs of my transaction history and the cashed check, i left the copies with a teller and he said his manager would see what they could do to get it corrected in 3-4 business days. well, this morning (less than 48 hours later) i have a credit of $225 in my account! that's my WAMU. |
